    The aim of this paper is to present the application of the OWA operator and some of its extensions in the calculation of continent and global tax revenues. The idea is to present how the analysis of an important economic indicator can vary depending on how the information is aggregated. An example was employed based on the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) database using 111 countries that were divided by continent, and then the global tax revenue was calculated using different aggregation operators. Different analyses can be carried out by governments and enterprises to improve decision making and fiscal politics.

    The main objective of this article is to present the formulation of a Capital Asset Pricing Model ordered weighted average CAPMOWAand its extensions, called CAPM-induced OWA (CAPMIOWA), CAPM Bonferroni OWA (CAPMBon-OWA), and CAPM Bonferroni-induced OWA CAPMBon-IOWA. A step-by-step process for applying this new proposal in a real case of formulating investment portfolios is generated. These methods show several scenarios, considering the attitude, preferences, and relationship of each argument, when underestimation or overestimation of the information by the decision maker may influence the decision-making process regarding portfolio investments. Finally, the complexity of the method and the incorporation of soft information into the modeling process lead to generating a greater number of scenarios and reflect the attitudes and preferences of decision makers.

    The main purpose is to propose a new method for approximating the average interest rate using an ordered weighted average. The ordered weighted average (OWA), generalized GOWA operator and interval numbers are studied to develop this method. Using average interest rate formulation combined with aggregations operators and interval numbers presented above is the proposed weighted average interest rate (OWAIR) operator. For mathematical application, the deposit interest rates of the countries with 2020 data on the World Bank website are carried out. Finally, it should be noted that changes in the maximum, minimum, and average values are considered in the use of training for each region, which can be helpful for investors’ decision-making.

    This paper presents a new aggregation operator technique that uses the ordered weighted average (OWA), heavy aggregation operators, Hamming distance, and moving averages. This approach is called heavy ordered weighted moving average distance (HOWMAD). The main advantage of this operator is that it can use the characteristics of the HOWMA operator to under-or overestimate the results according to the expectations and the knowledge of the future scenarios, analyze the historical data of the moving average, and compare the different alternatives with the ideal results of the distance measures. Some of the main families and specific cases using generalized and quasi-arithmetic means are presented, such as the generalized heavy moving average distance and a generalized HOWMAD. This study develops an application of this operator in forecasting the sales growth rate for a commercial company. We find that it is possible to determine whether the company's objectives can be achieved or must be reevaluated in response to the actual situation and future expectations of the enterprise.

    Using the ordered weighted average operator to gauge variation in agriculture commodities in India
    (Axioms, 2023) ; ;

    Agricultural product prices are subject to various uncertainties, including unpredictable weather conditions, pest infestations, and market fluctuations, which can significantly impact agricultural yields and productivity. Accurately assessing and understanding price is crucial for farmers, policymakers, and stakeholders in the agricultural sector to make informed decisions and implement appropriate risk management strategies. This study used the ordered weighted average (OWA) operator and its extensions as mathematical aggregation techniques incorporating ordered weights to capture and evaluate the factors influencing price variation. By generating different vectors related to different inputs to the traditional formulation, it is possible to aggregate information to calculate and provide a new view of the outcomes. The results of this research can help enhance risk management practices in agriculture and support decision-making processes to mitigate the adverse effects of price.

    Building a regional employability indicator based on ordered weighted average operators

    This article presents the process to build a regional employability indicator based on the ordered weighted average operator. The objective is to generate an indicator that can include different weighting vectors to analyze the information based on an analysis made from States to Regions to Nation. The main advantage of doing this type of indicators is that it is possible to made different politics for each State/Region instead of just analyze the whole Nation information. Also, based on the reordering step of the OWA operator is possible to obtain the maximum and minimum results. An example based on the National Occupation and Employment Survey (ENOE) 2020 survey conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) in Mexico was done. Among the main results is possible to visualize the main characteristics of each Region.

    Measuring volatility based on ordered weighted average operators: The case of agricultural product prices

    Agricultural products have experienced sudden changes in prices in recent years as a result of volumes of production and demand at the international level. Volatility is a key element in understanding the difficulties that the market may have. However, the traditional formula for volatility only considers historical information and does not consider decision makers’ knowledge and skills. To improve this approach and obtain more accurate results consistent with the reality of the market, the ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operator is used. These new approaches are the OWA-Volatility, Induced OWA-Volatility, Heavy OWA-Volatility, Probabilistic OWA-Volatility, Induced Probabilistic OWA-Volatility and Induced Heavy OWA-Volatility. In addition, some particular cases are presented in which the aggregation process is only applied to one part of the formula or quasi-arithmetic means are used. An example of volatility calculations for corn prices in 2017 is presented.

    Pythagorean membership grade distance aggregation: An application to new business ventures

    The objective of the paper is to present an extension of the ordered weighted average (OWA) operator, probability OWA (POWA) operator, distance measures and Pythagorean membership grades. These new operators are called the Pythagorean membership grade OWA distance (PMGOD) operator and the probabilistic Pythagorean membership grade OWA distance (PPMGOD) operator. This extension includes in one formulation the ability to measure the ideal vs. real situation of the distance operators, the weighting vector and reordering step of the OWA operator and the way in which it includes uncertainty based on the satisfaction of the criteria of the Pythagorean membership degree. These propositions are applied to new business ventures in the city of Colombia, where the decision maker can express his/her concerns about the uncertainty and probabilities of the current business environment and, thus, generate a better decision-making process.

    The present research proposes a new method to analyze the sustainable development goals (SDGs) index using ordered weighted average (OWA) operators. To develop this method, five experts evaluated and designated the relative importance of each of the 17 SDGs defined by the United Nations (UN), and with the use of the OWA and prioritized OWA (POWA) operators, rankings were generated. With the results, it is possible to visualize that the ranking of countries can change depending on the weights related to each SDG because the OWA and POWA operator methods can capture the uncertainty of the phenomenon.

    The ordered weighted government transparency average: Colombia case

    The main aim of this paper is to propose a new aggregation operator to improve the evaluation of the transparency index. This new operator is called the prioritized induced ordered weighted average weighted average (PIOWAWA) operator. The main characteristics of the PIOWAWA operator are that it allows considering the degree of importance, reordering and weight factors given to the information in the same formulation by the decision maker. A mathematical application is performed using a Colombia transparency case. The findings highlight that according to the operator used, there are significant changes in the ranking. The main implications are given by using these aggregation operators for the generation of scenarios by considering the changes in the allocation of weights, the level of importance and the ordering of information simultaneously.
