The purpose of this quantitative study was to analyze if there is an association between the school accountability ratings assigned to elementary schools in Texas (USA) with the students’ demographic characteristics attending those schools. Information from three large urban school districts in Texas was analyzed considering data from 398 elementary schools and the reading and mathematics TAKS test scores of 24,065 fourth grade students.
